El
representante de la India, Raghu Mukherjee, ganó este
sábado en la noche el título de "Grasim Mr.
International 2002" en la ciudad de Delhi, India.
El
primer finalista fue el venezolano Julio Cabrera, quien ganó
también el premio al Mejor Cuerpo del certamen; y el segundo
finalista fue el griego Odysseas Karousis.
Otros
premiados fueron Mr. Singapur, Remy Mitchell Goh como el
Mejor Traje Típico; Mr. España, Iván Martí como
Mejor Sonrisa; Mr. Chipre, Marcus Platrides como Mr. Fotogénico
y Mr Curazao, Danny Yanga, quien se llevó los premios al
Mejor Talento y a Mr. Popularidad.
Entre
los 6 finalistas figuraron también Mr. España, Iván Martí,
Mr Curazao, Danny Yanga; Mr. Líbano, Omar Halahel.

On 26th October Delhi witnessed the home coming of the title of Grasim
Mr. International 2002 at 'Celebrations Garden'. 26 ravishing men from 26 countries of the world showcased their intelligence and attitudes. Charming
Mr. India- Raghu Mukherjee won the title of Grasim Mr. International
2002.
First Runner-Up and the Second Runner-Up titles were picked-up by Julio Cabrera (Mr. Venezuela) and Odysseas Karousis (Mr. Greece), respectively. Sub contests to the event such as the Best National Costume, Best Talent, Mr. Physique, Mr. Photogenic, Best Smile were taken place at the hotel Crowne Plaza Surya on the 21st and the 23rd October
prior to the contest, for which the awards were given on the stage on 26th
October.

All the contestants went under training for 15 days from 11th to 26th October and worked hard to make the event a success. Mr. Popular was decided by the boys among themselves and was announced on the 'mega evening'. The magnetic evening was a blend of the Indian contemporary culture and the western.
Observed by an audience of around 7,000, the evening radiated enthusiasm and suspense as it approached towards the announcement of the winner. The first round was the Best National Costume Round wherein all the contestants walked the ramp in their
national attires, which was followed by 'Mr. Physique'. The round was breathtaking as all the boys arrived on the stage with great confidence and poise. The third round saw nine short-listed contestant's encounter with the judge's questions. This round witnessed some witty and humorous answers. The last round was a common question round in which the six short listed contestants tried their fate to win the prestigious title, and the winners were
announced.

The stage magnificently architect by skilled artists depicted the rays of the rising sun. Amaan and Ayaan Ali Bangash opened the show with soul soothing Sarod music. The stars of the evening Isha Kopikar, Shaan, Saroj Khan's dancing troupe and Shovana Narayan gave stunning performances and made the audience, who had swarmed in hours before the programme, dance to their
une. The anchors of the show', Ruby Bhatia and model Manpreet Brar, kept the pulse rates high through out the evening.
A panel of judges comprising of Kathy Pryer from Models 1- London, famous fashion designer Rina Dhaka, Ashutosh Gowarikar- of Lagaan fame, Poonam Dhillion- former Indian actress, West Indies cricketer Gorden Grindge and many other gracious personalities, judged the event.
The whole event was a conglomeration of talent, hard work and enthusiasm, which made it a
success!
